“INTERNATIONAL GREEN CONSTRUCTION CODE”
(IgCC) FREE FULL DAY ADVANCED TRAINING - JUNE 28, 2013
The RI Green Building Council (RIGBC) will be hosting a free full day advanced training session on the International Green Construction Code (IgCC) on Friday June 28, 2013, co-sponsored by the State of Rhode Island Building Commissioner’s Office.
The International Green Construction Code ™ (IgCC) Training Session will provide an in-depth review of the critical concepts of the IgCC, a high performance building standard developed by the International Code Council. It will address the updated 2012 IgCC, and how it pertains to new construction, renovations and community development projects.
The IGCC is an easy to follow alternative to LEED or Green Globes which can be used in meeting the requirements of the Green Building’s Act for Public Projects in Rhode Island. The Green Building’s Act requires that all State new construction and renovation projects, including all State Agencies, and RI Cities and Towns, be constructed to an approved high performance green building standard.
Learning Objectives: The goal of this session is for participants to get a section by section detailed review of the provisions of the 2012 IgCC. Participants will also gain an understanding of how the 2012 IgCC fits within the context of other currently available green building rating systems and standards for use on the design of Public Projects in Rhode Island.
Target Audience: Architects, Engineers, Trade Contractors, Material Suppliers, Property and Facility Managers, or anybody that wants to learn about the latest version of the International Green Construction Code.
